Julij 1st 1991, blue foxes

The column at Medvedjek was blocaded since they arrived on the 26th. During the night an air attack forced the Slovenians (TO) to fall back and the Yugoslav army (JNA) used to oportunity to demolish the concrete fences on the road side and drove to a local parallel road and started rolling back towards Brezice (border crossing with Croatia). The maneuver was expected and JNA soon encountered another baricade in Krakov forrest in the early morning hours. After failed negotiations to surrender, TO attacked a comuln and destroyed one BOV anti-aircraft vehicle. Another JNA air strike forced the TO stop the attack.
Under the cover of the JNA jets, the infantry, that rode with the column, dissmounted and proceeded trough the forrest on foot to liberate a garrison in Jastrebarsko. A small police squad under the command of Andrej Bobek managed to halt their advance and trick them that they were a part of a larger ambush, by spraypainting broomhandles (rifles) and drain pipes (cannons). Close to 50 JNA soldiers surrenders without a shot being fired. The vehicles are still trying to break trough the baricades with the help of JNA jets.

JNA tank shooting it's way trough the baricade and the blue foxes rounding up the prisoners

The JNA managed to blow up a supply depot at Crni vrh near Idrija, that was about to fall into TO hands. The explosion damaged the roofs of the entire village.
By this time there were very few border crossings in JNA hands. Those that were were under siege of extensive offensive operations. The hardest hit was Sentilj, where TO used captured tanks to bombard the border outpost (karavla).

Sentilj outpost (karavla) under attack by the TO tanks

JNA units in RKBO (hazardous material) suits and jets flying over the nuclear power plant Krsko were seen. The worst was expected by some, but there was no one that stupid in JNA to actaully bomb a nuclear power plant.
JNA sends a final ultimatum for TO to disarm. They were bluffing since they had no political support to go good on their threats.

Just watched it on TV, a funny story from the war. A group of farmers stole a Mi-8 transport helicopter from a local depot and towed it behind a tractor for 20km into the hands of the TO
