So I think I built the right machine.
 

Well, I'm downloading SH5 because I built a new computer Tuesday and it rocks. Tell me what kind of SH5 performance to expect, if you will...

Specs:

PSU: 1 gigawatt
RAM: 8 gigs of DDR3 1600
PCU: 3.2 dual core unlock able (tho I don't know how) to quad core
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 1gig
HDD: 500 gigs

With extenders, up to 50 USB ports (hence the gigawatt PSU)

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

that's about comparable to my old system to some degree. I had great performance with it but I had a GTX480 doing the rendering though and an AMD X4 965 BE as the processor on an Asus Crosshair III Formula MB.

I just built a new system:
- Asus Crosshair V Formula motherboard
- 8GB Mushkin DDR3 2000 (2 X 4GB)
- AMD Phenom II X6 1100T BE OC'd to 4.1GHz on air
- Evo Galaxy 1.2kW PS
- Win7 Ultimate 64bit
- eVGA GTX590
- 2 X OCZ Vertex 3 MAX IOPS 120GB SSDs in RAID 0 (2.02 firmware)
- Zalman CPU cooler
- SoundBlaster X-Fi Titanium Fatality Pro
- Antec 1200 case to hold everything (all stock fans replaced with Arctic Cooling ones)

and it screams :rock: There isn't a game I can't put everything to max on and set AA and AF all the way to max also (@ 2560 X 1600 resolution) :|\\

Sooo - uhh - what settings can I use without major lagz?

In my old system I had screen res at 1920 X 1200 (in windowed mode). Shadows slider at half. Anti-aliasing at 1/4 from left side, and everthing else at max. V-sync was enabled and very rarely did the FPS ever drop from 60. Hope that helps :up:

The shadows and anti-aliasing have the biggest effect on fps in this game.

Yup , shadows on half . If you use the shadow improvement mod i suggest the lite version .
