Program error! Big problem, also.

When I tryed to load my next patrol Windows stopped the process, with the following display:

"SilentHunter3: sh3.exe Programerror!
The instruction at 0x004b9798 referenced memory at 0x00000010.
Could not read the memory. Exit SH3" (No other option given).

This was "Before leaving port".
Rebooted and chose the prior "After returning to port"
Redistributed awards.
Rebooted, selected "Before leaving port".
Read the orders, and attempted to load patrol. Fail!
Rebooted, and recompleted my last patrol. No problem,
Rebooted, and attempted my new patrol again. Fail!

Never had this problem before, and have no understanding of the numbers given by Windows. Not a hardware problem. No changes were made to any files during, or following, the last patrol.

Any help and/or information would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem with my previous career. I just dumped it.
I don't see how this problem can be fixed

Thank you, my friend.
Hate to do it but, it seems to be the only way out.

If that doesn't do it I guess a clean install will.
I hope it doesn't come to that.

Your problem is in relation to referenced memory corruption.

I'm unaware if this works but I'll post the link for your consideration:

Your welcome.

I seem to recall reading a lot of people were having this issue as a result of a WMP update conflicting with the Windows Driver Foundation. A number of folks 'fixed' it by disabling the service.

Can be accessed via: Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services -> Windows Driver Foundation.

If that doesn't work, you can also have a look at this page from Microsoft:

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/...2-ea0fda8b49c6

Hope you get it sorted! :sunny:

@Fish In The Water

Thanks Fish. Always new stuff to learn.
Fortunately, my problem isn't so big as the poor guy's in the link.

Will probably delete the career, go back to '39, and see if the problem goes away, as it did for VONHARRIS. I'm hopeful, and because I run Boat (as opposed to Kaleun) Careers, it's not that big of a loss. This particular boat has only completed 2 patrols.

Thanks everybody.
Fixed.
Thankfuly, I didn't have to get into the more complex solutions.
The VONHARRIS solution worked.
When I dumped the profile, the problem went with it.

Might want to think twice about Restoreguard. I haven't used it, but found this on a Google search. It's from https://msmvps.com/blogs/donna/archi...-software.aspx

Avoid buying RestoreGuard. It's a rogue software

Microsoft MVP and Wilders Security forum admin, Mike (aka LowWaterMark) shared to us that new member in their forums have asked if the RestoreGuard is a legitimate program but its a suspicious post because the member have posted some links:
restoreguard . com/p/file-Srrstr.dll.html?keyword=Srrstr.DLL%20error&gclid=C JDmmrb8qaICFUeZ2AodnmWwTw
Quite obvious that the distributor of this rogue program is using Blackhat SEO strategy because you'll add any filename or add your name with .dll extension and you'll get a result on how to fix :D
Your name is Bob? Then make that bob.dll
restoreguard. com/p/file-Bob.dll.html?keyword=Bob.DLL%20error&gclid=CJDmmrb 8qaICFUeZ2AodnmWwTw
My name is Donna and I want it with .dll extension to fix :D
restoreguard .com/p/file-Donna.dll.html?keyword=Donna.DLL%20error&gclid=CJD mmrb8qaICFUeZ2AodnmWwTw-
Anyway, the site has privacy policy, no trial edition of the program but you have to buy to try. Registrant is protected by WhoisGuard and for all we know, ENOM registrar has lots of rogue domain customers such as uninstall-free.com, antispyware2012.com etc.
Stay away from restoreguard.com. Add in your blocklist, hosts file or restricted site zone, filters.

Thanks.
Had it downloaded.
Read the User Agreement.
Decided that it was not in my best interest.
Got rid of it.
Ran 2 scans, "just in case".
