In shock
I've just watched a bloke jump in front of a train. I was waiting for a train at Central and just as a train entered the platform he ran and jumped into its path, hit the front and slid down betwthe tracks. Police and station staff are all over the place and trying to find out if he's alive. Bugger.that was unpleasant. :(

That's a nasty sight. I hope you'll be able to let it go soon. And sorry for the guy to have made the choice. Sad.
|
Now that is a sight no one wants to see. The fella must have really wanted to end it.
|
Sorry you had to go through that Grant, just the thought of seeing something like that makes me wanna puke! How are you handling it?
|
I know how you feel. I rode the train for 3 years when I still studied in Ljubljana and I had to go trough 2 suicides and one accident involving a byciclist. My advice, forget about it and leave the area, the less you see (body, blood and the idiots that always stand out in scenes like this) the better.
|
Hope you're doing ok :o
|
I'm doing OK now. Caught a train on another line and my wife came to pick me up for a station about half an hour from home. Nerves are still a bit raw but will now have a siff drink before heading to bed.
I talked it through in a bit of detail with my wife, I actually think that's helped to process what I saw. Still hard to believe and comprehend why he did it. |
I had something similar happen to me, i was going to my dads place, but i was running 30 minutes late, and when i got to the trainstation, i found out someone had killed themself by jumping infront of a train. Had i not been late, i would have been there when it happened.

Ouch...yeah that's a sight I wish no one would ever have to see.
take care TJ HunterICX |
Glad you were able to talk it out. As a teen I saw a young woman who had been perhaps three or four people away from me throw herself in front of a subway train while I was on my way to school. There were no trauma counsellers around in 1970 so those images stayed with me a very long time and colour my perception of suicide to this day.
Good Luck! |
Hmm very very nasty not a pleasant site, things must be real bad for the guy who\tried to top himself :nope:
|
Nasty stuff Tarjak, glad you were able to talk to your wife rather than stewing on it, it'll stick with you a while though, no mistake. I've always felt sorry for the drivers in these kinds of situations, really bad stuff.
|
Not something you want to see waiting for a train.
|
That's bad news Grant...suicides can often be a messy business.
Give the missus and both your girls a cuddle...it sometimes helps. |
Grant! That is terrible!
I saw 2 truck drivers get hit by trains years ago in two different accidents outside of where I worked at the time. We all ran out to do what we could but it was very bad in one instance. The other, the driver was very luck and waded away through several feet of female products. Both sights were very un-nerveing. Everytime I cross that crossing I kind of flash back somewhat. I try to avoid going that way if at all possible to this day. I also can not go down the female products isle at stores any longer! :o |
