Blackout in German Cities

This is something I've been meaning to raise for some time but have never got round to it until now. In SH3, why are the lights still blazing at night in Kiel and other places after the declaration of war? Didn't the German's take blackout precautions? Seems strange, but presumably there is a reason why the lights are still on in the SH3 world.

I think you are right and cities all over Europe were blacked out. The lights all ablaze is mistake, historically speaking. It does look good though.

Hard coded?

If not, I can see early in the war but after mid 1940, maybe slightly earlier should be total blackouts.

Aside from light houses maybe? I'm not sure if they blacked those out or not....

Good point. Never thought about this but indeed everything should be blacked out. But I think they didn't do it because the game just looks better this way.

It sure would be nice to able to shut them off.
It'd probably give the RAM and CPU a nice break too.

Never really took this into consideration or rather never had noticed.

It does look welcoming, even to those bombers.:O:

Aesthetics of the game.

Another job for h.sie

Hi,

it can be done without touching any hardcode. You just need to modify the harbor_kit file.

Cheers, LGN1
