4 Lions (movie)
4 Lions would be the funniest movie ive seen in a long time. 4 Lions is about 4 British Jihadist who dream of becoming the ultimate terrorist. Its a comedy a must see! :DL
One scene where one of the characters described his many 'disguises' for buying chemicals: Its alright as I change my voice each time I went into the store one of the voices was a womans voice. But you have a beard Yes but I covered it How Puts hands over his face. like this. Four Lions is a comic tour de force; it shows that-while terrorism is about ideology-it can also be about idiots. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1341167/ |
It's a great film. One of the things that struck me - quite aside from the humour of it - was how downright scary some of it was.
There is one scene in particular that got me: The ringleader (can't remember the character's name,) is sitting in his house with his wife and their little boy and they're talking about this and that around the dinner table. it's a scene of absolute domestic normality until you realise she's trying to allay his fears and convince him to go ahead with his suicide mission. It's perfectly done and completely chilling. I know that this was one of the things that Chris Morris wanted to achieve with the movie, that although they are idiots, they are still dangerous. I loved the bits when they are at the training camp in Pakistan..and Barry, the white, convert is brilliant: "Spark plugs! Jews invented spark plugs to control global traffic!"...:haha: |
Swallow the SIM cards!
EDIT - SIM dammit! |
Barry: Bollocks, I'm a liability! I am the Invisible Jihadi! They seek him here, they seek him there, but here's not there, he's blowing up your slag sister!
:D I think I'm going to go and watch it again right now. |

Give it a go Jim , it's a scream and a cry and a thought with a bloody big laugh. Though I thought this mythical PC(no pun intended) crowd had ensured that such subjects were taboo and would never scoop awards at some "liberal" arty farty festival |

The truth, though, which is very typically Chris Morris, is that it pretty much has a go at everyone. It's pretty much equally mocking of every group it portrays. |

I haven't seen it myself yet, but it's on my definate to watch list. Chris Morris is a comedy genius, The Day Today was the best telly of the '90s.
