My list of faults and ideas for SH5
 
This is a list of things I have noticed wrong with the vanilla game that I think need to be addressed but they may have already been spotted and fixed.
I would like to have go at modding\fixing these but I'm very new to this and have only tweaked a few things in SH5 and STALKER SOC.


1. Torpedoes are out of sinch eg. When you have used all torpedoes, there are still two waiting to be loaded. You must go to the torpedo room to see this.

2. The new (waxing) moon is around the wrong way, dark side facing the setting sun, not sure about the waning moon. I have to play the game and check this! Maybe these files only need to be re-named and moved?

3. Hydrophone operation seems to be back to front eg. When submerged, I can't hear the engines when hydrophone is pointed aft. The Hydrophone officer only gives contacts when on the surface but when submerged, I have to do the searching myself and have to turn off the engines to hear anything. It's as though the sound files are mixed up and in the wrong place.

4. Sometimes the watch crew get stuck on the bridge when submerged and they don't appear when surfaced. Also the CO2 does not work. You have to save your progress and restart the game to fix this. This fault was identical in SH4 and was never fixed by UBISOFT, very VERY slack I would say!

5. How is it possible to order the Flack gunner to shoot a plane using the Binoculars when it is almost impossible to see anything coming until it's too late? It is quicker for me to man the Flack myself and usually it's too late anyway, so I normally dive!

6. The under water sound of exploding depth charges is very unrealistic. Bad sound files maybe?

7. I'm not sure what version it is but Pascals uniforms does not work and I use JSME, all others mods work fine.

8. How can I adjust textures? I want to make the subs look wet. Ithink this would look really nice and add much realism to the game.

9. Clouds don't go to the horizon and this looks bad and there are no light flashes from lightning.

10. Where is the Wet-weather gear?

11. Where is the periscope wake?

Just a few things there and I'm sure I can find more, so any advice would be very awesome indeed!

I think you are correct with all your observations. Some of them have been fixed. The Dark Wraith has done a 'Mega-Mod for SH5' that has rounded-up alot of the best fixes and Mods and put them into one handy package. I believe he is compiling an update as we speak. That'll bring SH5 much closer to what was originally intended by The Development Team than ever before.

Suggestion No. 8 is a particularly nice idea. I'd love to see you produce a Mod for this and maybe Dark Wraith will include it in his next Super-mod update :salute:

A lot of them have been fixed and some still need addressing. I'm guessing you haven't ventured too far into the available mods yet? :)

The Dark Wraith is the man! :rock:I would have a go at No.8 because I am artistic but I haven't a clue what software is best and then how to use it! If I could get to the stage where I can manipulate the textures, I would certainly do it! :yeah:

I have actually downloaded quite a few mods for this game and have found them very good but I have a very limited internet access and most large files fail :damn: so I tend to stick with individual downloads, however I sometimes do get lucky! :woot:

I have observed what happens to the waning moon and word 'radical' springs to mind. It appears around the wrong way or back to front and swivels on its axis until it reaches its correct angle. This takes only a few minutes and looks silly!
Is there a fix\mod for the hud? Most of the time I like to switch off the hud and I get sick of having to keep switching it off again whenever I change screens or go into dialogue with NPC's, if you can call it 'dialogue' :zzz: It would be nice to switch it off and keep it that way until I need it!

8) There have been released already a wet hull mod, check the Mods Workshop
