A Time Machine. 1 million wouldn't be enough, though in the movie 'Primer' they did it with a few gadgets lying around in the garage. The time machine would have to be able to go into the future not the past. 500 yrs from now what would the world be like? Well you did say be crazy. :DL

I wouldn't need to invent anything since I've helped my (occasional) job at a software startup patent a couple of things already. If I got a million dollars, I would just invest it in stuff we already invented and hire everybody who we wanted to have but still can't afford for our projects :D
