Is it possible to, you know, like, turn them off altogether? 'Cuz people, you know, leave me questions and stuff, and I never know if I should answer them there or go answer them on their own Visitor Messages or what, and I get, like, all confused an' stuff, and no matter what I do I feel stupid and, like, it really doesn't seem to do anything and so I just ignore them, but then I feel all guilty and stuff and I can't seem to get it right no matter what I do, you know?

Yes, I plan to disable VM altogether. They really serve no purpose over PMs, and threads. If you want a one-to-one discussion: PM. If you want to discuss publicly: Threads.

I believe i did this months ago. I forgot what option i checked, but im pretty sure i disabled vistor messages in my profile. Haven't recieved any, nor seen any of the old ones (at least the ones i didn't delete myself), for a very long time now.

There's a section for Visitor Messaging, if the box there is checked VM is enabled. Just uncheck it. I think it may be enabled by default but I've had mine turned off since I realized there was an option for it.

Of course if Neal's gonna disable it entirely, that's an even better fix, but you can still turn it off in the meantime.

@Neal: if you can also disable the "Talk like a 14 year old girl" option in Steve's profile, the rest of us will be eternally grateful. :O:
