Case study: Why to be careful with Facebook party invitations

Facebook party spins out of control

BERLIN --
Better check your Facebook settings before posting a party invitation online.
A teenage girl in Germany who forgot to mark her birthday invitation as private on Facebook fled her own party when more than 1,500 guests showed up and around 100 police officers, some on horses, were needed to keep the crowd under control.

Facebook. More nuisance than necessity. :nope:

It could have been worse...

about 15,000 "followers" were expected to visit her birthday party.

I have FB, although I probably look at it once a month, but seems many friends and family think they have to post about every aspect of their lives on it.

I've anaccount but I can't remember the last time I accessed it.

Besides...I don't have many friends and stopped celebrating birthdays years ago :DL

I have about 50 friends on FB, and about 100 ''friends'' that are varius services, establishments and activities. Not much to communicate but I always know if there's a hail warning in my parts

Umm I don't have any real true friends.

But if there was nemesister or ways to connect to your enemies I think I would have a zillion :haha:

Connect your enemies maybe you'll find those who share them.:rotfl2:

FB is over rated, there is Huge difference between an 'FB friend' and a 'real friend'.
I have 120+ FB friends or so - but i consider less than a dozen of them to be TRUE friends, the rest are aquaintences, ex work collegues, ex GF's and old class mates etc, people who I would not be in contact with under 20th century standards. :)
Sometimes I think it should be called Moanbook, since many (especially the female variety) seem to use it as a platform to have a winge about lifes little misgivings, usually in a bid to get some undeserved sympathy :haha:.

As for the gate crashing party thing in the OP, that has already happened at least 3 times here in the UK, face book need to fix their sh1t to make the privacy settings clearer to the less savy users.
