A nice surprise from HM Revenue&Customs
 

Just received a letter from HM Revenue and Customs (always a bad thing), but no, it was to say I have overpaid tax and got a refund - :woot:

Now for the important matter, what to spend it on:hmmm:

I know the feeling. 2 years ago I received €360 of overpaid tax back from the DURS (Slovenian IRS or HM:R&C). Took 3 days of and blew €500 on the seaside :DL

Depends how much!

£100 - nice meal
£200 - weekend away
£300 - new gfx card
£500 - weekend abroad
£1000 - new gaming rig
£2000 - host own UK Subsim party

All the above obviously include a nice donation to Onkel Neal.

I've never been taxed on my pension for fifteen months so I can imagine what kind of letter I'm eventually going to receive :-?

Current choice is either; New mobile (maybe a HTC), or treat my parents to a meal/new garden table&chair set they've been looking at.

I wouldn't pay out for a new mobile, I get it included in my monthly payment package and it gets better every year (or two years now I'm on the nice expensive phones). HTC's are good though. Garden furniture for folks sounds like the nice thing to do whilst we're still enjoying this lovely weather. :smug:
