I've heard lots of people complaining that the Democrats are supporting voter fraud. I've heard (especially being in Texas) that Democrats have been working hard to get illegal immigrants to vote. Dead voters, fake people, ex-cons, ballot box stuffing, etc., all by the Democrat party.

I guess that's why the Democrats won a majority in the House last November.

I have no problem with a law that requires an ID check for voting, as long as the law also provides a method for everyone entitled to vote with a free, and relatively simple to obtain, voting ID.

Why would ANYONE be against something designed to stop fraud at the ballot box?

It's implicitly accusing every voter of fraud and forcing each of us to prove otherwise by showing our papers.

It's also implicitly a poll tax -- many people have IDs for other reasons, but some people would still need to get IDs purely in order to vote.

In short, it's un-American.

I made a post a while back, about how stereotypically young people are all left wingers, but in reality young people's political orientations mirror society as a whole

Wait, at 18 years of age you are legally required to have a state I.D. if you don't have a drivers license. In fact your legally required to carry said I.D. on you at all times when you leave your home. So by that very reasoning why would it be an issue to show said I.D. before you vote? Jump through hoops? If they don't already have a valid I.D. chances are they shouldn't vote because they probably are not citizens!
