The unmoddable game
 

Hello there! Noob in distress here :) I'm sitting here trying to resist the temptation of diving my sub with all hatches open in pure frustration.
Yesterday morning I got the brilliant idea to jazz up my vanilla SH5 with a few naughty mods. First off I started reading about modding the game on this site. Apparently it was easier to install mods than to hate Justin Bieber,
and I find that pretty easy.. Well apparently not. I got a few mods in alright such as the Accurate German flags, AilWhiteInterior and Dooms Decks for VIIABC41.. Easy peasy! So I got cocky and figured I should go all in and do the complete Magnum Opus with the extra snacks it provides. Popped in to Stoianms excellente walkthrough vids and had a go (btw GREAT work, man!). Here's what i ended up with:

Followed the Stoianm walkthrough TO THE END and no cutting corners. Overexcited I hit the shortcut to launch the game and got all the way to loading my save but after loading was completed I was sent directly to desktop and didn't even collect two grand from passing Start. I was fixin' to erupt! :damn: But I didn't. So I took a stroll around the house cussin' a bit and sat my sorry ass back down at the computer and here I am.. Please help me so I don't end up at the bottom of the Atlantic with hatches open in a bloody vanilla Silent Hunter 5 to the sad music of "MAN THE DECKGUN"...

Most of the mods require to be installed while in bunker and even start a new campaign. You cant use an old save game as it will crash the game. So get back into the bunker and load the mods while you are there.

Oh yeah :) Forgot to mention that. Tried loading a game where I was in the bunker after ending patrol. Also tried starting a new carreer but I had CTD everytime the loading game sequence was done.

Is the game patched to 1.2 ?

I've been thinking seriously hard about what might cause this and running the game updater didn't come into my head. Running updater now. Hope it does the trick :)

Uninstall the freakin mods first :O::O::O:

Oh believe me I have :) Actually I lost my head a bit earlier today and deleted the whole shabang of downloaded mods :har: So now I'm back at square 1 regarding the Stoianm walkthrough... I know, I'm stooopid but it worked magic on my mood seeing the whole folder going into the bin :D

Edit:
Solved! After running Aniuks link I was told that the game already was updated to latest version. Launched the game as "administrator" and everything went smooth..
