Got Sub Command a long time ago for christmas when I was like 12, had a lot of fun playing on %0 realism and blowing up everything that moved.
Eventually started playing realistically, moved on to Dangerous Waters then Silent Hunter III, and now I'm here.

Gonna be looking for people to play SH3 MP with, of course with GWX.

I must say I'm glad there's a good sized community for sub games.
With each Silent Hunter being progressively worse then the last, and the extinction of the Sonalyst series, well, what I'm trying to say is mods are super vital, dog.

What is a Bernard?

The butt of every joke and the reason or excuse for everything that goes wrong.

Well, sit down, have some ice cream and I'll tell you a little story.

A very long time ago, in a mythical, magical kingdom called Finn-Land, there lived a ferret who took on human characteristics, and started calling himself Dowly, though due to translation errors a great many people get his name wrong (well, maybe only one or two, but enough to make him complain about it). Through the magic of a place called SubSim Dowly The Flying Finnish Ferret was able to communicate with the real world. One day he became bold enough to start his own thread http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=84773, with funny pictures. The very first funny picture made casual reference to a character called Bernard. Sometimes mistaken for Bernhard, or even Birdnard, Bernard began to be noticed by others, mainly for his lack of understanding of...well, pretty much everything. This led to his becoming the laughingstock of SubSim, and to his elevation to his current position of butt-of-all-jokes, as Haji-Baba Jimbuna so eloquently pointed out.

The bottom line is that today we use Bernard as a whipping boy for our own mistakes. It's good to have someone to blame. :D
