Grrr - Ford Parts Department Rant

I felt the need to post my frustration at the Ford Parts Department for those who have had similar problems.

I ordered a new trunk lock assembly for my Mustang about 5 days ago now. They told me it'd be in the next day.

It's been 5 days now - and I still do not have my part.

I won't be ordering parts directly from Ford any more after this.

The longer it takes for me to get the part, the longer it takes for me to sell my car.

You know they DID have a 9.0 Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan right .

Oh wait! It's a Ford. Well it may still apply. You never know. :D :D

OEM parts always take forever.

When you contacted them to inquire why your part was late, what did they say was the status?

I have come to the conclusion that pretty much all of these motor companies and dealerships are the same.

I went to nissan the other day, took my truck in.

I need a state inspection and an oil change, also rotate the tires, check the air filter, and while we are at it... why not throw on some new wiper blades while we are at it.

this took them just shy of 3 hours.

I'll not be visiting the service department again if i can help it.

I never let Ford or state certified mechanics work on my car. Running open headers - they'd slap cats and mufflers on.

You better get that Stang sold before, you spend more money fixing things then you can get for it. :hmmm:

Its only the trunk latch mechanism. My friend crawled in there through the folded down rear seat (gives better access to the rear amp speakers), and got stuck. I didn't want to run the risk of him kicking off my steering wheel, so he pulled the emergency trunk release handed. Somehow it stripped one of the gears.

WOOHOO, 200TH POST!
