Triesman claims four Fifa members attempted 2018 bribes

Former Football Association chairman Lord Triesman claims four Fifa members sought "bribes" in return for backing England's failed 2018 World Cup bid.

Triesman - who was initially chairman of England's bid - made the allegations about Jack Warner, Nicolas Leoz, Ricardo Teixeira and Worawi Makudi.

He said their behaviour was "below what would be ethically acceptable".

However, Fifa vice-president Warner said the allegations made against him by Triesman were "a piece of nonsense".

Speaking to Sky Sports News, he added: "I've never asked Triesman nor any other person, Englishman or otherwise, for any money for my vote at any time.

"In the English campaign, before Triesman was unceremoniously kicked out, I've spoken to him on his initiative on only three occasions, while I've spoken to his other colleagues on other occasions and not one of them will ever corroborate his bit of trivia.

They should have bribed them with ham, sausages and a cockoo clock - that's the way we got the FIFA world cup to Germany :O::

In this difficult situation, Germany would like to emphasize the urgency of its appeal to hold the World Cup 2006 in Germany. Let me come straight to the point:
In appreciation of your support we would like to offer you a small gift for your vote in favor of Germany:
A fine basket with specialties from the black forest, including some really good sausages, ham and — hold on to your seat — a wonderful KuKuClock!
And a beer mug, too! Do we leave you any choice?
We trust in the wisdom of your decision tomorrow,
sincerely yours

How low will Fifa go?

Bakkels 05-11-11 01:40 PM

As low as they can. Blatter is re-running for president, and I have no doubt he'll win it. After all the evidence of corruption in the organisation, nothing has really changed, and he will be re-elected by pampering some officials.
Just yesterday, the Dutch football association said they were going to vote for Blatter. Even though the public here doesn't take the guy seriously anymore. Every single sports program or magazine has turned against him for a couple of years now, but the Dutch FA still support him :nope: In this case I wish the media had MORE power....

There is one footballshow that broadcasts a clip every time the name Blatter is mentioned on the show :haha:

Biggest game in the world. You guys think that its not fixed? hahaa. What you see is what you pay for. Still I like football so even I know its a bogus game still good and will continue to watch it. I'll wait for the day when the players take back there game.. But money will aways suppress them. As long as they put on a good show right. :O:
