[REQ/TEC] adding Vertical Launch tubes to nuke boats?
 
i need this for reference if Jhapprich cannot do it for karle's Red October career playable sub... then i plan on doing it myself. (animations, coding, etc) :yeah:
P.S. im using google sketchup + S3D

The problem with the Krakens model of balistic missiles is that its not a missile per se in the sense you open a tube and set the solution. The way he modded it into the game was to modify a basic cannon...

Jhapprich has done a torp. tube animation of a missle, nukes AND Cruise missiles. he seems the guy to give me answers.

You cant really modify a torpedo into a ballistic missile (as torpedoes are modified into cruise missiles) because torpedoes will only travel at one depth whereas with a ballistic missile, you have an arc.

Its a game engine issue.

This is what I`ve done with my surface ships. It`s a invisible deck gun placed where the VLS tubes are.

Vertical launch is rather tricky i do agree, seeing as the game is designed for world war 2 and not 20th century...but keep trying, it'll come to you ^^
