Flags & Antenna mods
Now I've tried a number of mods (GWXFlags&Pennants, and two other ones I forgot the names of). They make you able to raise your flag and antenna and pennants.
Now raising the flag and antenna always works, but they never automatically lower, although the description of some of these mods do claim that whenever you dive, the flag and antenna will automatically lower. My question is; is there actually a mod out there that works? Or do I need to change something in the command_en file? Because when I activate the mod, Jsgme says GWX Integrated Orders already changed the commands_en file. However I have used Winmerge to change this file many times, but still no automatic lowering of flags or antenna... |
I use the DFA Flags & Pennants 2010 mod, and whenever I hit the P key I see the loop antenna go down and the flag disappear, so I know that one works.

Thanks, but that was the one I already use  Whenever I have my flags and antenna up, and I dive and go to the surface again, the antenna and flag are both still up but not moving. They're frozen.
Are you guys using GWX Integrated orders too? Because IIRC that's the only mod that Jsgme warns me about that could conflict with this one... |

The only conflict I get is with FM Interiors, but it's fairly easy to iron out by editing the 'Commands_en.cfg' file. |
I wouldn't recommend letting any mod overwrite another mod's version of the Commands cfg files, unless you know for certain that the new version is compatible with both mods. If not, you're going to lose entries in those files that are required for the proper working of one mod or the other.
Many mods that use those files include instructions for manually editing your existing ones to include what they need without overwriting what you already have. Once you get the hang of it, it's not that difficult to compare different versions of those files, and do the manual editing that will include everything each mod needs. (Unless they use commands that conflict with each other, which is something I haven't encountered so far *knock wood*). |
Yeah well, that's the thing; I used Winmerge to compare both the command_en from the DfaFlag_Pennant mod, and the command_en as it is before installing that mod. Because JSGME pointed out command_en as a possible mod conflict with GWX Integrated Orders.
So I took the additions that Dfa_Flag_Pennant makes (it only adds lines, it doesn't really conflict with anything) and copied them over with WinMerge. But still, my flag and antenna don't automatically lower.. |

I haven't played with any of the mods yet, but if you've successfully merged the files there should be no issues stemming from missing or overwritten commands. :hmmm: |
I was told spefically not to merge gwx intergrated orders and df flags and antenna mod. Causes the exact problems you listed

As SailorSteve said, the current version is GWX_DFa-Flag&Pens_2010 ...
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...BPennants_2010 ... http://www.mediafire.com/file/45hd8r...26Pens_2010.7z ... If you have correctly installed mod and (if necessary) if you have correctly adapted mod, problems are absent... It can be done by anyone, who understands the role of the mod files... |
The updated mod Anvart refers to has a patch for Integrated Orders compatibility. :yep:
|
I never really read the entire post of the Dfa_Flags mod, so never saw the patch for integrated orders.... :nope: Shame on me!
Thanks once again Frau Kaleun, I'll try it right away  |
It still doesn't work. Installed everything following the instrucitons Dfa_Flags&Pens first, then Integrated Orders, than the patch, but I still get the 'frozen flag' syndrome. Well I guess I'll have to manually lower the flag before diving then...
|
The Integrated Orders Patch is for GWX_DFa-Flag&Pens_2010. If you are using some earlier or different version of a flags and pennants mod, that patch is not designed for it.
