Bunch of questions
 

Is there a mod or way to decrease the range that ships see you on the surface? I feel like ships can see me waaaayyyy to far out, especially at night. From what I've seen of history, most of the U-boats did their hunting at night, but in this game, even the freighters can see you too far out to get a good shot. How would (or can I?) fix this?

Also, I've played through the 1st campaign, and I'm almost all the way through the 2nd and I have yet to fight alongside a single other U-boat. Is there something I'm doing wrong????

Also, how do I open/install a .rar file? The escorts can't seem to find or attack me at all, so I'm trying to put in the killer AI thing mod and I'm having trouble getting it installed in the the generic mod enabler thingy.

another alternative for the AI is my IRAI mod. You can find it in the SH5 mods forum :up:

a .rar file is a file thats been compressed. You will need to unpack it first.

I use WinRar for this. http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm

I usually unpack the file to my desktop. This will creat a folder on your desktop with the mod files inside. Then I drag the files to the MODS folder inside my SH5 folder.

Okay. TDW, I've downloaded your new UI's 5.9.0 a while back (amazing mod btw :up:). Would I install IRAI in addition to that? Or in place of that?

Also, what does IRAI stand for?

And, is there a game out that does a good strategic simulation of WWII subs? Like, I enjoy subsimming, but is there one where I could command the whole U-boat force, something along the lines of Civilization, except that you could ACTUALLY cut off someone's supply lines?
