Storms in NC.

Got pretty bad, just found out someone I knew got killed by a tornado in Sanford. I didn't realize how bad it got until watching the news this morning. The storms came through here and thought the house would blow in, but our area was OK. It really hit other areas hard, right now 21 dead in NC, but they expect to find more.

I swear tornadoes seem to have gotten bigger and more here in NC the last 20 years. I had one level my barn and kill a lot of livestock years ago.
I laid in a horse stall as it took the barn down.

I've been in 3, even got to where they worried me so much I installed a tornado cabinet in my garage. Dream about them all the time.

I didn't live in Stoneville years ago here when that one took the town apart, but my son was in daycare there, his teacher was killed. I arrived just after it hit and that was terrifying wondering if he was alive.

The season has certainly started with a bang, there were some bad ones over Mississippi way on Friday, including a nighttime wedge...erk... Sorry to hear about the person you knew, and your sons teacher, one can only hope that one day enough information will be gathered on tornados to give more warning time.

I'd be loathe to make that kind of leap, even though I do believe in some kind of event occurring in that year (and not just my enslavement), we are entering a period of heightened solar activity, that perhaps could account for some of the recent geographical and meteorological activity.

We just realised we have a friend in Dare County, but it looks like that was spared, she's probably without power though which is why we haven't seen her online yet.

My prediction is that when the year 2012 passes without any doomsday events (other than possible man-made atrocities), the doomsday believers will find something else to cite as the coming event. :D

It'll be 2013 because of the Gregorian calender, then there'll be 2020, and so on and so forth.
I do ponder though, and it is a gruesome thought and I apologise and will remove this if deemed inappropriate...but I wonder what the suicide rate will do next year...cults and all that...

This is some good footage, older man talking calmly while video taping and then realizes the tornado is coming right by him. Notice when it gets close he tells his wife " I love you." bet he thought his number was up.

Close, real close. Closest I've seen someone get in a standard car.
