Many of the mods use a mod installer program from Jones Software called Jones Soft Generic Mod Enabler JSGME.

It is a program where you can load the mods in a Mod directory and then have control over which mods load. It is also great to help you find which mod is causing any problems.

If you are going to use mods, I highly recommend you use JSGME. It makes using mods very easy.

There is a thread or post with screen shots showing how Jgsme works. It walks you trough the steps. It is very simple once you get the hang of it, but opening the program and looking at it might make you think otherwise. Do not get scared off. It is like dancing class in elementary school. Your parents did it, your brothers and sisters did it, the idiots here did it (most of them, anyway), and you too will do it. With a handle like donjuan, you will be able to waltz through it.

Trust me on this. If *I* can use JSGME anyone can. :yep:

But I echo I'm going down's comment that it does look more complicated than it is. Just follow the instructions, it really works well.

Which version of TMO should a guy use for version 1.4?

I think that TMO 1.63 or 1.7 is the last for SH4 1.4
I don't know where they are posted if at all anymore.

All the newer TMO's are for SH 4 Gold Edition, 1.5 with added Uboat missions.
I think you can get this on Amazon.com for about $15.00 or less or on the UBI web site, I think the 1.5 download is only $10.00
It's well worth it. Fixes a lot of stuff and all the new mods are for it.
