Nicolas Cage arrested for 'drunken' New Orleans row
Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage has been arrested after an alleged drunken argument with his wife in New Orleans.
Mr Cage has been charged with domestic abuse, disturbing the peace and public drunkenness. He and his wife Alice Kim were arguing outside a house in the French Quarter that the 47-year-old star said they were renting, a police statement says. Ms Kim said it was not theirs and the Oscar winner grabbed her arm, and started hitting cars, it adds. He then shouted at a police officer who had seen his behaviour. Mr Cage is being held in the Orleans Parish Prison before an initial court appearance later on Saturday, police say. Mr Cage won the 1995 Best Actor Award for Leaving Las Vegas, in which he played an alcoholic with a death wish. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-13106628 Note: 16 April 2011 Last updated at 19:00 GMT |

I don't judge actors by their real life (they are just humans too after all), but their performance. Both Cage and Gibson are actors I very much like, steady performance most of the time. Hell, I even like Tom Cruise most of the time, Top Gun, Last Samurai, both were good performances. Oh, and as for Charlie Sheen? Let him do what he wants, remember Hot Shots? Hot Shots 2? PLATOON?! Let the guy be and do what he wants, it's his life after all.

I've never understood how some people have such a hard time separating the two. Of course Nic Cage is screwed up - news flash - everyone is screwed up. The guy's done some good work and that's good enough for me. |

Because so-called stars are in the spotlight. And they should realise that ANYTHING they do will attract the wrath of the media hounds and the general populous. Like me. If Joe Blow from next door did something like this you wouldn't know or read about it, but because it's a famous or well-known identity then of course it will get plenty of exposure. And that is where these morons go wrong, time and time again. Surely they realise that they are idolised, followed, looked up to and/or imitated in some cases by the fans. So when something like this happens, it's either a major letdown to that fan or, worse case scenario, they follow their lead. Because you are famous doesn't give you a license to do what you want in life. So, you see, it is easy to seperate the two. Very easy. With famosity comes responsibilty. Accountability. Why should we have to abide by rules and regulations but if you are famous, it's an open license. Pah! :nope: |
I judge people by their actions and whilst those mentioned are undoubtedly fine accomplished actors they are sadly flawed in other qualities...but aren't we all in one way or another?

I fail to see what he did wrong, obviously the whole story aint told but what ive just read is he was having an drunken argument with the wife, grabs her arm, hits some cars. Sounds pretty normal to me. :haha:
Nicolas Cage in 'Lord of War' One of his best performances for me. |
