AFAIK he did nothing wrong, many etiquette experts here stated that it IS possible to take it, despite the way he did that is just... Hilarious.

Not to mention that Klaus is perhaps the only politician in Czech Republic who deserve respect, this country owes him a lot...

If he'd been a Brit politician it would have come in useful to sign his Giro.

He correctly criticises many design flaws in the EU and the Euro. For that alone he can take as many pens as he wants, afaic.:DL
