radio messages that say 34AN

i get alot of radio messages that say stragler ship seen at 34AN or 84BC. where the heck is that located. Ive tried opening the nav map to tell but all it has are the Lat and Long numbers. I even tried to look at the shipping chart and see if that would tell me.

Is there a mod that im missing that shows this. I have the kriegs map but still cant tell from that where they are talking about.

anyone that can enlighten me on this?

If you look at the bottom right hand corner, It gives an example of how to use the map. The example used is grid ES (which is west of Freetown, Africa).

So if you received a radio report that said ES33 then that would be the very top right hand corner of grid ES. And if it was ES37 then that would be Still be the top right hand corner of grid ES, but would be near the center of grid ES.

Hope this helps.

:salute:

Edit :- This link will explain it better than I can.

thank you, i figured out the Jist of it from what you posted. A little hard to get how they break down the squares even more, but at least now i can get to the normal area.

If you zoom in or out the different square layouts will show or not, at least that was the case in SH4. :)

not in SH5, the map he is showing is a chart that is not zoomable. and on the regular nav map all you get is the long...lat lines you dont get the grids

use this sortware to convert them in lat and long... and plot on your map after:

but you must alt+tab for this:)

It does not work.

Should I use JSGME or manually add that map to the SH V maps?

When I click alt+tab it throws me out of the game to Windows 7. Please help. :)

I would like to have that Krigsmarine grid map in the game(SH V).

I mean that map. Is it possible to use it while playing. I mean do I have to go out of the game to Windows 7? This map should be installed in the game files?

kuba0191 01-27-13 05:02 AM

Ok. It works. ;)

no, it is an external tool. You should minimize the game in order to run it...

Or print a copy to have at your side. The now 19-year-old Aces Of The Deep came with a copy of a real KM grid map in the box. I'm glad to see we've come so far into the future.*

*Note: This is not a slam at SH5, but at all modern games.
