How to Disable Geolocation in Specific Programs
Geolocation is a rather secret feature of some browsers and toolbars. It allows the creator of that program to get a fix on the location of your computer to within a few meters of where you actually live. Knowing where you are has always been available via trace route and your IP address.

So this looks like it's dependent on googles harvesting of wi-fi points?
So if your router isn't wi-fi? |
Then they can't triangulate it and have to resort to the regular IP trace, I guess.
Not as accurate, but plenty accurate for marketing purposes. |
