Deck Gun Question
Which config file contains the reload speed setting for the deck gun?
|
Data\Library\USSubParts\x_x.sim
Editable with S3d... |
Thank you, sir! :salute:

You can also control this (to some extent) in the Gameplay Options by selecting/deselecting "Realistic Reloads" (or something to that effect).
Deselecting it causes the guns/torpedoes to load rather quickly. |
Does anyone know if crew ability affects this? |
I think the torpedo reload time(s) are good. Just wanted to speed up the deck gun loading.
Know the specifics that I would need to change to speed it up a couple of seconds? |

But if you open, like AI_Deck_Gun_4_50.sim, in S3D, goto node 6.wpn_Cannon.wpn Here are values for reload_time, range, shell speed etc. Combined with settings in data\cfg\sim.cfg, you can trim the guns, so you'll never know what hit you! :yeah: Own guns are of course without the AI_ index. |
Don't bother messing around with gun reload times! That won't do much good. Load up my Slightly Subnuclear Deck Gun and wreck righteous carnage you can feel GOOD about! This is no time for half measures...

I'm referring to a couple of mods right in the downloads section under gameplay. There are several that speed the times up. I've listed two here. I don't know if they work with the supermods however, sometimes they do anyway if they are not big graphics mods or complex mods for gameplay. I think these mods just simply tweek the gun performance. The first is one called Superguns and the second is Websters improved deck gun for 1.5. There are two folders in this one so you can choose between two reload speeds. You may all ready know about these, I use Websters sometimes, and it works very well. Then, like Robbins says, you can always load up the sub-nuclear gun mod for a laugh!! Haven't tried those yet either, Dogfish40. Thanks for pointing them out for me. :salute:
