Contacts quest...
I have recently started playing SH5 and i have a question regarding reporting of contacts. Some of the contacts i see on the nav map come out of nowhere (not reported). They are on the map but havent got any report of them neither in radio messages, ships journal or captains log. So whats going on? :P
Here is what i mean... http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/8573/screenpv.jpg Also have noticed that they show up on nav map few hours after the time where it says "Contact spotted" ...and those are not radio contacts? because when i turn off "Visual contacts" in nav map features they vanish....well dunno tbh just asking if this is meant to work like this? and what kind of contacts they are? http://img714.imageshack.us/i/screenpv.jpg |
Are you running the mega mod or TDW user interface ?

First go into your save game folder found in my documents .
Look for the time compression settings which will be in C:\Users\*****\Documents\SH5\data\cfg\main Paste these in over the top of the existing TC settings TimeStop=0 RealTime=1 LandProximity=1,32 CriticalDamage=1,32 CrewEfficiency=256 AirEnemyDetected=1,32 SoundEffects=8 CharacterAnim=32 FriendDetected=1,32 EnemyDetected=1,32 RadioReport=1,32 Particles=32 PrayState=1,32 HunterState=1,32 3DRender=32 Maximum=256,32 Change the one in yellow to what ever max TC you use (1024 etc) Unenable NewUIs_TDC_6_4_0_ByTheDarkWraith with the mod enabler. Look for the options page found here . NewUIs_TDC_6_4_0_ByTheDarkWraith\data\Scripts\Menu \TheDarkWraithUserOptions Adjust as required LOL . Here are 2 i change to True TC1OnRadioMessageReceived = True TC1OnAnyMessageBoxText = True good luck . |
Thanks for the suggestions but have already tried all of that and still have contacts which are not reported anywhere....dang...

I noticed on the map you have contacts set to 1000 kilometers .
Try setting to 250 kilometers . Set with the + - signs . |

If you have the option no map contact update ticked in the realism option on the game options page , it says When selected , hydrophone and visual contacts will not appear on the navigation map . Radio contacts however will appear periodically on the map .

For example. Lets say i just started a new patrol. I have received only 1 radio message but they are like 5 ghost ships on the map. I should have received 5 radio messages if there are 5 ghost ships on the map? Do you always receive a radio message for every ghost ship that show up on the map? Cheers! Edit : Forgot to mention that i am playing with map contact updates ON and not using real navigation yet... |

these ghost ships appear due to the game engine. I don't make them and I don't know when they are added thus no message for them. I've been looking at ways to combat this but haven't found a viable solution yet.

Just one more question...When u click on the ghost ship, it is showing the date and time when the contact was spotted but is it accurate? |
