HELP....Studdering/Choppy Wave Animations!

Hey everyone, im quite new to the SH and finally got my SH5 working after 4 days of troubleshooting. I installed a few mods and work without any problems except one.

I'm having a weird issue with the waves in the game, they seem to have some weird jerky movement to them. It is more pronounced when I'm in motion (moving foward with external or just looking out on the subs deck).

Tried with v_synch on/off and anti lag but didn't see any changes.

My fps is pretty smooth all game as well. It's just the waves that are killing the atmosphere or me.

Any ideas?

what is this Subsim for Depth keeping problem :06: I didn't release a mod with that name :hmmm:

Do you mean the bow wave and deck water animations? I have this problem too.

One thing I've done is to Alt-tab out of the game, open task manager, right click on sh5.exe in the processes tab and change priority to realtime or high. This fixed the stuttering bow wave and splash animations for me.

THe downside is you have to do this every time unless you can figure out the permanent fix shown here by DelphiUniverse.

For whatever reason I couldn't get it to work on my machine but the priority change does help for me.

I got it from the Real Environment thread. There's a link for it there

i tested the w_clear .sim file and i have some strange movements of my uboat... when i go to depth ... or when i am going from deeper to periscope depth for example my uboat is jumping like an rabit... but i like a lot the w_clear .sim balances left-right... maybe when you have time you will try to make them compatible... or maybe you can put them in MO

Hmm neither of them worked. It seems to be only happening when running any mods that change the mechanics of waves. It's more choppy with just MO installed, and it seems a bit better with RE installed.

Thank you for your advice guys that was fast :)

I've had this issue when I was running the game. Only fix was either save+reload or just get out of external cam then go back.

Its just changed with notepad if you want to have a go .
C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\data\Env\SeaParameters

Just make a new folder up , adjust and enable with the mod enabler last ..

Yeah i noticed the the bunny hopping motion of the sub when surfaced with RE installed. Kinda made me sick :p . Is there specific value that controls that aspect of the sub? I was hoping to get back the way it was in MO.

And btw thank you sober....Quite a lot of options in there to mess with with. Gonna compare these with the stock values to see what would cause the jittery waves. My guess would probably be the sea speed guess ill find out.

just unninstall the mod if you not like it... a .sim file is a little bit harder to edit... are to manny parameters... only w_clear can do that because he know what numers he changed and where... so if you not like just unninstall the mod and install at the end of your mod list this one from here:
