Ubisoft Launcher not updating

Last night I was spurred to play a little SH5, and when I started it up, Ubisoft Launcher said it was updating.

So I let the update go for a little bit, then, about the time it was finished, it closed itself out and then nothing happened.

So I thought it installed and tried running SH5 again.

The Launcher Update popped back up! :stare:

This has happened 3-4 times now. Is this happening to anyone else?

Question is, do you need to update?
gu updater exe should be used to update.
found in ubisoft/silent hunter 5/support/game updater.
If you are patched to v1.20 then no updates available, and when using the SH5 exe to run game, the updating icon will appear, and then should bring up your 'play' screen.

its not the game that is updating, its the Launcher itself, I know the game's patched to 1.2

I have this exact same issue.

Windows 7
Stream edition

Scratch that...

I restarted my pc, went to launch SH5 through steam, it took me to that same little download window that said the launcher was updating. I let it update again, but this time when it was done it patched itself and I'm now staring at a new launcher screen for SH5.

So, maybe the restart was all that was required.

I'll give that a try then.
