One Mod you can't livee without

Can I ask what is the one mod you think is most important to your gameplay.

You know, if there was one mod you couldn't live without.

I ask becasue I am modding right now and would love to hear what the experts view as thier best one.

Thank you in advance

John

I like Beery's Flotilla Mod. It gives me the 2. Flotilla (and the IXs) right from the start.

This one is quite simple- GWX.

Schwieger 03-13-11 05:03 PM

U-Boot_HAHD - or at least when it comes out :har::haha:

+1

I think the better question is, what supplemental mod do you enjoy the most?

The mega-mods are basically fixes that the game should have been, and there's different versions of that. I'm sure the which mega mod is best argument is beaten to death.

So which one? Again, that should be broken into Graphical and gameplay mods.

I haven't heavily modded my game yet. The steam version has given me problems with SHC, so I have just recently figured out how to make it work properly.

But, TBH, the Fuel effeciency and Decks awash (WB?) mod makes the game play that much more fun, while the water streams and exhaust mod makes it that more visually real for me.

I do plan on implementing the MFM soon, just tired of the same old ships.

I've been meaning to ask, what is this mod?

I read the first few pages of the thread, and there was the argument, then it becomes techy.

So basically, TL;DR.

Could you sum up what HAHD intends to be, will it be supplemental to other mods, etc...

STEED 03-13-11 06:54 PM

Apart from GWX it has to be SH3C. :)

Basically he's starting a new mega-mod focused on historical accuracy and highly detailed units :D

GWX 3 (ofc), but, considering that's an automatic must i nominate:

FM Interior Mod. Can't do without it.

id have to say gwx too because right now i'm trying out wac4.1 and the only thing that really got me immerst was the docks and the campaign itself but i'm missing my gwx already.

Unfortunately I consider every mod I'm using essential, and I wouldn't want to live without any of them. I have to live without FM's New Interiors and the Merchant Fleet Mod, because my computer won't run them.

So I go with GWX as the most balanced of all the supermods (and the one my computer finds friendliest) and SH3 Commander.

Then there's...a gruntload of other add-ons. Don't make me choose. :nope:

Thanks Guys for all your responses...great info here for sure :yeah:

Feuer Frei! 03-14-11 05:45 AM

So John, what is your must-have mod?
Only fair, right? :O:

Apart from GWX ofc.
What is the one stand-out addon you have come across?

 Nice one.

Ok so you must realise that I have played SH3 for a while now without ever knowing about Mods, add ons or even GWX...until I found this site while looking for cheats for the game on the net.
So now that I do know I am like a kid in a candy shop stuffing my face with everything I can get hold of. I am sticking in mods everywhere and seeing if I like them.

So, I have GWX of course.
My mods are:

And I guess it is over kill but I love the news at the beginning, and the WB patrol orders too. I NEEDED the contact colour mod for sure. All of these I love as it adds to my gameplay...but the kid in the candy shop wants to see what everyone else is using...just in case I am missing out on something...:D

Have to say I didn't like the Das Boot clothes mod though, I prefer my men in dress uniform. :salute:

It's never overkill, the best thing to do is to try them all, and see which ones work and which ones dont.
Everyone is different and that's the beauty of it isn't it?
16km Atmosphere is a good one too, it raises the 'draw' for distance, you can see further, so can your crew!

Also if your PC can handle it, enable the FM new interior mod, it is a must imho:
GET IT HERE

Update your version of JSGME, i notice yours is 2.2.0, from 2008, new version:
