Issues with my framerate and time compression.
I have been playing SH4 with TMO and the intercontinental radio mod for some time now and never seemed to have any real dramatic performance problems.
I am on my 6th patrol with my new Balao class and all of the sudden I cannot use time compression at all without significant frame rate issues. This may have to do with sinking multiple targets and saving so I can finish the patrol later (I have to work sometime!) but I cannot understand why it is happening all of the sudden. I do not have any extra programs running and I know my computer can handle the game, I just wonder what the reason is so I can avoid it in the future. Any ideas? Mike Holmes (USS Balao) |
Sometimes a good ole' fashion re-boot will fix problems like unexplained, sudden framerate drops in games.

That was one of the first things I tried, it did not seem to help at all.
The odd thing is that when this happened before, I was able to return to port and start a new mission with no sign of problems. Not sure why. |
What version of TMO are you running, and have you been sailing near Truk?
|
I am using the latest version of TMO and yes, I have been sailing near truk.
is that a known bug? |
In TMO 2.0, there's a problem with Truk. It was fixed in 2.1, so make sure you're running that version.

I downloaded the patch and will apply it and test it out when I get home from work tonight.
I don't suspect I will be able to install this mid-patrol will I... looks like a long ride back to Pearl for me. thank you so much for all the help. Mike |
I'd suggest starting a new campaign after the update. I'm not sure how much it changes.
I remember making that long trek from Truk. It's a pain. |
but I was going so well...had lots of tonnage to my name and a few medals on my jacket.
Sometimes mods are cruel mistresses. Mike |
