[REL] New sounds for the guns

Just made a small mini-soundpack of gun sounds to replace the stock ones. There are two sound files, one for big caliber guns, recorded from the USS Wisconsin and the other is the sound of a 5 inch gun on a Ticonderoga. Both are very loud and we now have real gun sounds for the game. Try it and enjoy.

That was the reaction I was going for. Glad you like it.

I just gave them a listen. Very nice. My only negative comment is that they sound like they were recorded live, with no editing, which in itself alters the sound, since a single microphone can't capture the full force of the sound. Sometimes a studio creation is more "real" than the real thing.

Still, if you can get around that (unfortunately for me I can't) they are quite nice, and better than most of the in-game gun sounds.

You are right they were recorded live. I edited them a little, enhanced the sound so it`s louder and the tone so it`s loud in the beginning and lowers as it goes, until the end where it`s almost silent.

I have made a new version of my sound mod. It is not made as a direct replacement to the old as some may like the old one better.

Just discovered that sounds from Battlestations Pacific fits quite well in SH4. Especially large caliber guns.
