Netbook LCD: Stuck or Dead pixels?
Turned my netbook on today and found a little black smudge. I look closely at it and its black and blue, I did some online tests with where the screen color changes a bunch of times and about 1/2 of the pixels on the smudge change on the blue or purple screens, but not on the other colors.
Are those pixels dead and gone forever or are they stuck and can be fixed? |
If you've not had it long then check out manufacturers dead pixel policy - most are good nowadays. If not returnable there is a program I've read about some time ago that uses the pixels either side to trick the eye into thinking all is ok. But I could just be making that up!

This is what you do
if it will not be repaired by the manufacture
than try this: warm up your thumb, press firmly on the area press gently but firmly, moving in cirles its your best chance to fix it |

Let's hope OP let's us know if this works. I'd be interested to see. |
UPDATE:
Nothing worked and more pixels were going bad each time I turned it on. I returned it to where I purchased it last December. Monday they will call ASUS and arrange a replacement or servicing. |
