[WIP] Italian Trento class heavy cruiser
Hi everyone!
Here's a WIP reskin of Kovall grey trieste class CA (a great SHV conversion), in Regia Marina colors with camo paint, red and white stripes on bow. Skin is based on my Duilio battleship. A pre release image: http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/3059/rmtrento.jpg I've remapped most of model, and made minor adjustements. i'll release soon! ps I'm back, and i'm happy for this :88) ps2 Trento class included RM Trento, RM Trieste and a subclass with RM Bolzano only (an improved unit) |
looking forward to it VD http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...s/thumbsup.gif

Hi everyone!
I've seen somo photo\postcards with Trento class cruisers; on some of them (very rare), on ship's bow there is a seaplane. In some others there isn't planes. Do you know if there was a seaplane on Trento during ww2? Should i add it? http://comandosupremo.com/wp-content.../03/trento.jpg http://www.asso4stormo.it/arc2/Ruzzin_ruz/ruz0058.jpg Best regards, Vd |

I do not know about Trento and Trieste but I assume that they've used their scouts as well. Trento class had hangar which could hold two planes. Third could be carried on catapult. Will third plane be carried it depend of nature of mission since front guns could not fire strait ahead while planes were on catapult without damage to plane. So, mostly it carried two planes. That is why on some pictures you can see plane ready on catapult and on some pictures there are no planes. I hope this clarifies thing a bit. BTW, are you planing to create Bolzano as it was historicly? He was more class of his own. Actually it was predecessor of Zara's and he was much more similar to Zara's then Trento's. He had hull much more similar as Zara's (bridge was different then Zara's). http://warshipsww2.eu/lode.php?langu...d=&idtrida=167 PS: VonDOs, could you clarify for me meaning of a terms Navi di battaglia and corazzata??? I've been searching on net Italian word for Battleship and I've found that sometimes it is used term Navi di battaglia and sometimes corazzata. What is difference between these terms and which is right for "Battleship"? |

Thanks a lot!
So, there where a couple of hidden seaplanes, and rarely a third one on the bow catapult. Mmm if majority of time was spended by those ships without the third plane, i'm thinking to not implement this. @mad Really good question, i've difficult to reply. I think Nave da battaglia (nave=ship; battaglia=battle -> battle-ship) should refer to wood and iron also old capital warships (like french Napoleon), while corazzata should (i think) refer to iron, heavy protected battleship). :hmmm::hmmm::hmmm: Btw, on my dictionary, they refer both to "battleship" convenctional term; they're used for same object; so they're the same. |
Comlimenti VonDos veramente. Avrei da porti un milione di domande
poiche' il mio inglese e' leggermente arruginito:DL L'incrociatore del mio nick per esempio potresti farlo? Comlimenti ancora. |
Grazie ;)
