Null Base

Hi All
First time posting so please be gentle.

I have been playing SH3 for a longtime and just recently restarted the whole game, I found this site and all the treasures in it...like cfg changes etc.

So today I was playing the game and it offered me a change to a new flotilla. When I clicked on it to transfer a screen came up and said Base is : null and then froze and would not let me out of the game. I forced a shut doen to get out of the game.

Any idea why this happened????

Thanks in advance

John

Hi John! It happened to me, when I should switch to another base, or that I have done an upgrade, but not a CTD

Not sure if that's actually an answer but thanks for the salute :D

When the Null is one thing, but you have to stop and turn off is another thing has this happened before, at other times?

No this is the very first time this happened. I tried to shut down via task manager but SH3 was not showing in the apps list so the PC was not picking it up, maybe it was a glitch in the machine. I have shut down the PC and am using my laptop for this posting, I will reboot tomorrow and see if it happens again. I feel it just froze and should be ok...I was concerned about the NULL BASE...and at least now I know it happens to other users so this makes me feel a bit better....thank God I saved the game first before trying the flotilla change.

Thank you so much for your time

No problem! What type of PC do you use when you run SH3 with or without GWX, I thought that if it has incurred any, which had a direct impact in the machines that did this, just a thought because you previously not had any problems

Johnfb 03-03-11 05:04 PM

I am running XP service pack 2.
Never had a problem before and I have the game over 3 years now.

Sorry I dont know what GWX means.

I just transfered the base to St. Naz so not too far itno the game..if it continues to cause me problems I may just uninstall the whole thing and start again.

Thanks Vendor for your interest

GWX3 is a Super Mods, you are installing the SH3 (Stock)),and then on top of the SH3,place GWX3 there are several others but I use myself GWX3 giving the game a significant better feeling and realism instead of "regular" if you do not have it, so I recommend GWX3.

You're welcome! But do not forget that you need to have a clean install of SH3, and one piece of advice is that you clear the deleted files and folders from SH3 from my document /the partition C, use CCleaner (free), or reg vac cleaner free trial

Links for clean your hard drive,
