new to SH5
 

and i,m not liking the new controls very well!!! getting PO,ed at this real fast!!!

besides that,,,somehow the captain got on the main deck while surfaced,,,don,t know how ,but i could not get him back up on the conning tower bridge????:damn::damn::damn:
also
how do you get the crew to get below to dive the boat??? can,t find any control,orders, whatever to do this??:damn:

Hey there welcome aboard Sh5!

First off I suggest you head on over to the MOD forum and pick up the megamod MO, or atleast TDW UI, which will give you the controls you need and more familar with sh3 style.

To get off the deck gun you need to hit escape, or click the red X on the top right of the screen.

In order to get your captain back to the bridge you need to WALK him there in FPS style. OR with TDW's mod you can 'teleport' old sh3 style.

Don't worry about the crew on deck. just take yourself below deck and order dive they will follow shortly.

I did install the MO mod...I,ll have to read more about the controls with it..
as for the captain,,i walked him all over that boat and couldn,t get him up there!! it was dark out and couldn,t see very well...thought i found a ladder (not too sure) but couldn,t get him to climb up....
got frustrated and walked him out to the bow to commit suicide but he wouldn,t jump off there either!!!! then i was gonna blow his head off with the deck gun,,, but when i,d go to that station he,d be invisible!!!!(my frustration got the best of me)

i,m not too crazy about having to walk the captain around,,rather just hit a key and be at whatever station..

oh yeah,,what else i can,t figure out is how to get that hydrophone to change bearing.....manual says "left click on handler"...what is THAT????
I,ve left clicked on everything and nothing changes???
I,m about ready to start chewin the rug tryin to figure this SH5 out...

i was reading on Venatore,s site about his mods changing this sim from an "childs arcade game " to a full realistic u-boat sim......"childs arcade game:o:o:o:o....if this is a childs game ,,,,i must be one dumb SOB!!!!!!

Mouse wheel to change bearing on hydrophone .
Just walk towards ladder and then look up and W key .
Mo mod , the officers down the bottom of the screen . Click on the right deck officer and you will see you can teleport .

You can also press 'T' to bring up the teleport order bar :yep:
