Accidently Firing Torpedos

Hello All. I recently installed GWX and I'm having a problem. When I am looking through the attack periscope, I left click the mouse on the periscope once and it lets me move around and look through the sight, however once I left click again to get the mouse back to set up a shot, it defaults to me pressing the fire torpedo button. It's extremely frustrating as you would imagine. These are the same steps I would normally use with my stock version of SH3 but now it causes me to fire a torpedo. No matter what I do, once I am looking around through the periscope, the next time I press the mouse it presses the fire torpedo button. Any suggestions?

Do you have any mods installed?

I vaguely remember there being a semi recent thread about this and I think somebody found a solution.

No I don't have any mods installed. I will look for that other thread but I haven't found anything yet.

I've not experienced this but I think it has something to do with using one of the resolution mods to play at a different resolution than the game's native one - I seem to remember that at a certain resolution the default spot where the mouse cursor 'reappears' in the situation described ends up being right over the 'fire' button.

But I can't remember if it's just one particular resolution, or if it has something to do with letting the game get stretched out to a widescreen ratio as well.

This issue has come up before more than once, though, so somebody here will likely have more specific information about it.

Yes that was the gist of it IIRC. You must be doing some thing to alter the res of the game.

I just installed the HighResFix today, and this problem is mentioned here:
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=1092

However, you say you don't have any mods installed :hmmm:.
But the link you'll find when you scroll down that page might still be the solution to your problem.

Yes, I had discovered that at a certain monitor resolution (I am at 1920xsomething), using the Hi-Res fix, when you clicked to exit the periscope view, the mouse happened to land on the fire button and launched a torpedo.

I wanted hi-res, so I installed someone's TDC mod that puts the TDC on the right side of the periscope. Now when I exit the scope view it clicks on the torpedo spread angle. :) I have to watch this or it can bugger up salvo shots. But at least it doesn't fire torpedoes when I exit the periscope view.
