Need to know about map item placements
I'm not sure if this should be in this forum or the SH5 mods workshop forum, but here goes:
Would someone please explain how the map coordinates work for placing items, such as the ruler, compass, etc., and which ones need to be changed in order to move an item right, left, up, down, or to a completely different part of the map? And what does Display=0;No stretch do? Here's an example for the ruler from Page navigation.ini located in \data\menu\pages. What needs to be changed to perhaps move this ruler to the upper right part of the map, for example? [G31 I72] Name=Ruler Type=1032;Button ItemID=0x311A0004 ParentID=0x311A0000 Pos=124,-1,40,40 Zone= 730 768 40 40 0 1 0x311A0000 0.299517 -0.0238095 0x311A0004 0 0 0 0 Materials=4 Display=0;No stretch Mat 0=data/menu/gui/maptools.dds Crop 0=0,0.320313,0,0 Mat 1=data/menu/gui/maptools.dds Crop 1=0,0.320313,0,0 Mat 2=data/menu/gui/maptools.dds Crop 2=0,0.480469,0,0 Mat 3=data/menu/gui/maptools.dds Crop 3=0,0.480469,0,0 MatFlags=0x9 TexFmt=0x0 Font=19 TextFlags=0x0 StatesColors=0xB0B0B0FF, 0xFF, 0xFFFFFFFF, 0xFFFFFFFF ToolTipText=2249 Thanks in advance! :salute: |
Anyone?

enable the menu editor. It's much easier to move/edit/add/remove menu items this way

Thanks for your reply TDW!
I didn't know what menu editor was, so I did a search for it and found reaper7's post - [TEC] Adding Items in the Menu Editor Tutorial - http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=165968 - thanks to reaper7 too! I'll give that a try. Using the menu editor, I take it that I will be able to place things or move them to where I want them, negating the need to know anything about those numbers I mentioned, yes? Cheers! |

For anyone else interested, in reaper7's thread mentioned above, Magnum refers to karamazovnew's thread as well, which has a whole lot of info too. The more, the better!
