I sunk a Dale class oiler and pulled out of the scope to save my game, and my screen did this:

The actual cause would probably be something graphic driver or graphics card related..

Does look sort of odd though

it is only an dds from tex that was load wrong by the game... if you look at the textures from game C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\data\Textures\TNormal\tex and try to watch some dds with ,,head'' on the name you will observe some similitudes like in your screnshot:up:

I have a 3rd periscope that comes out of my radar port whenever i dive. It even makes a seaspray!

you are sure it is radio antena? - looks like a scope:o - the trouth is that i did not pased total germany and i used only the VIIA uboat until now - maybe this radio antena is in another year:hmmm: and i did not saw it until now

Yea it's a radio antenna. It is very pointy and only deploys when you submerge. Look close when you are at attack periscope depth and you can see the point sticking out of the water.

that's correct, it's a radio antenna. I added that to the UIs, FX Update, and IRAI mods.
