White House Corrects DNI Clapper's Claim That Muslim Brotherhood Is 'Secular'
The Obama administration took the rare step Thursday of correcting its own intelligence chief after the official claimed Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood is "largely secular."
Director of National Intelligence James Clapper discussed the Islamist group during a hearing on Capitol Hill earlier Thursday. He testified that the organization has "pursued social ends" and a "betterment of the political order," and downplayed its religious underpinnings. "The term 'Muslim Brotherhood' ... is an umbrella term for a variety of movements, in the case of Egypt, a very heterogeneous group, largely secular, which has eschewed violence and has decried Al Qaeda as a perversion of Islam," Clapper said. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011...rhood-secular/ Note: Published February 10, 2011 |

Funny thing that Obama administration while discrediting totalitarian regimes try to justify totalitarian ideologies. All in the name of fixing relation with muslim world. |

I'll make a prediction: By the end of the decade Egypt, Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan will all be governed by extremist Islamic regimes. Moreover, the majority of them will be democratically elected.
|
I don't bet one penny against you, Tak. Either extremists casting decisive influence in these governments, or the governments themselves will be corrupt regimes like the old ones. And yes, they all will have been democratically elected.
|
Perhaps, but then it must be timely, and patient audience, (ie the people)

Clapper does not usually make these types of mistakes.
I wonder what is going on? :shifty: |
It's the Obama white house civility crap, they can't call it for what it really is, sorta like calling a rattle snake a worm. The Muslim brotherhood are terrorist and should be treated as such.
