Lat & Lon in MIS file

How do you enter the latitude and longitude coordinates in the Silent Hunter 4 MIS file? For example, the MIS file contains the entries as follows: LONG=2918500.000000 and LAT=-1902000.000000. How do these values correspond to the coordinate numbering system used on maps, ex. Seoul, Korea is Lat=37.3000 N & Lon=127.0000 E?

Short answer is you don't. You let the mission editor do that for you.

(edit: Or in the case of starting positions in flotilla.upc, you let the mission editor find the coordinates for you. )

The magic number is 120000 (120 thousand meters) per degree.

Eventhough you might use imperial units in the game, under the cover it uses a metric coordinate system. If you want to be a specific distance in nautical miles from a point you need to use 1852 meters per nautical mile. The '1 arcminute equals 1 nautical mile' rule doesn't hold in the SHx world.

EDIT: You gave the coordinates LONG=2918500.000000 and LAT=-1902000.000000. This puts you deep into the jungle of Zambia (Africa). How did you get your sub there?
