Iran's Claim it Test-Fired Anti-Warship Missiles Brings New Concerns, Questions

Iran test-fired what it calls a supersonic ballistic surface-to-sea missile today in a dramatic ceremony that saw the missile crash into a ship that went up in smoke.

It’s being called anti-destroyer, anti-warship and radar evading, with a range of 300 kilometers, or 186 miles.

Brig. Gen. Ali Jafari, Commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, described the new hardware.

“These missiles are ultrasonic and can never be detected and intercepted by the enemies. The result of these defense projects is a very long leap in maintaining the security of the country in the sky and in the sea.”

This, just a day after the chief of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard warned they would close the Strait of Hormuz if Iran were to be threatened.

just like the wunderwaffe and the Kamikaze, one "super weapon" cannot win the war.
Places like Iran and North Korea just say they now hold the key to annihilate the "evil capitalist navies" to please the populace, and the Americans are just playing along to justify increased navel spending

I think they mean it removes plaque and tarter from your teeth while sinking ships :woot:

What in Iran isn't Radar Evading! Next they will announce radar evading bullets! :haha:

Hmmmm a high altitude-high speed missile... if only we had some sort of defense system that was designed to deal with such weapons... oh wait we do... :yeah:

So it went straight up, straight back down and blew up the ship that launched it? They do need more funding from the sounds of it!:haha:

Sounds awefully similar to the DF-21D

This Iranian bird (which is based on an Chinese bird) is much smaller, has less range and has a lower velocity.

Its a poor man's ASBM.

:haha: Aah, all these Asian countries coming up with the next thing to wipe the US on their asses makes me laugh because I think of Hitlers wonderweapons and how they were a nuisance only..

Funny they have to brag about their weapons. Think about the Blackbird, kept secret for 30+ years? We have to hide what we have, makes you wonder what other secrets we have that not many know about. When we have to hide it, and they have to flaunt it, doesn't make me wonder what side will win when the poop hits the fan.

What really gets me is how the middle east in general has become our enemy, according to the media. If you think about it, ever since the end of WWII we've always had an enemy, or a war, or a potential enemy and the media convinces us that we need to be scared of the next big threat. I think we just need to justify the existence of our military industrial complex or our empire will collapse.

I wonder how much flexing they would be doing if Regan was still in office.
