little help
Hi all,
i just bought an nvidia geforce GTX465 and after installed the latest drivers (v8.17.12.6658) - my computer restart from time to time. I made a fresh sh5 instalation and i received a message that sh5 installer detected that my version of driver is to old:o and maybe i will have problems. If somebody use the same type of video card (or has an ideea) please tell me what is the version of driver that are stable - or what is the cause of these restarts - the last trywill be to reinstall the os - but i am sure that is another solution:damn: I am using win7 - 64 bit, 4 gb ram, cpu dual core 2.8G Thanks for the help:salute: |
I have GTX480 and use this driver version: 258.96_desktop_win7_winvista_64bit_english_whql (8.17.12.5896 in control panel)
I also have Win 7 64 bit No problems what-so-ever  |

I am using the same drivers. I am also told they are old but they are not.
Everyone with new nvidia drivers are getting this error. Does you whole PC shut down and restart on it own:06: Did you install the card yourself:06: Did this start after you installed the card:06: I talked only the other month about a PC random rebooting. Possible probs were:- Power pack too small Overheating due to a bad setted graphics card Turned out it was a faulty card. |

Thanks trevally |
what size PS are you using? I use the EVO Galaxy 1.2kW. This ensures I'm good for at least a couple of years before I need to upgrade the PS :D One thing to check is that your PS rails can supply the needed amperage to the video card. Some PSs can't push the needed amperage from some of the rails in it - you have to use specific rails for video cards.
Another thing to look at is mobo settings. Some mobos let you limit the amount of power the video card can use. Some Asus mobos are this way. |
For me the rebooting would happen only when a game was running.
Even then it would go for ages until some video or high demand part of the game started. In SH5 this could happen any time - normally about 30 to 60 mins in.:arrgh!: Mass Effect 2 gave real problems - every cut scene - reboot:wah: Hope you get it fixed without hassle. :yep: |
