are mods killing my game
 

:cry: after months of adding mods, testing mods ,and removeing mods , i find that my hydrophone does not work any more? meaning no sound when i man the hydrophone myself ? but my soner officer still gives out contacts. it does not work at any depth or speed, it does pick up my own sub engines? i have removed all mods still no joy ,i have also reinstalled the game three times and using stock game and still nothing,(dont want to reinstall to often as according to ubi small print drm will only allow this so many times?) is there some sound files missing that i should be looking for? BTW i hate stock game so i need my mods asap its the only thing keeping me here :hmmm:

So you say that when you have no mods instaled the hydro it works ok and you have this problem only after you enable mods?

If yes please post your ,,mods list,, in the order that you have enabled them!

:salute: no hydro dont work at all , i have reinstalled the game with no mods and still no sound from the hydrophone station when i man it myself,so whatever triggers the sound at the station is missing i think :hmmm: BTW all the sounds files are there,and i think there is some mod that i have used in the past has overwriten the trigger for them sounds :06: please dont ask for a list of mods, as i have tried them all at sometime or other ,i suppose that is the price i have to pay for being a mod guinea pig :smug:

try reinstalling in an entire new directory

ex. if it was
c:\programfiles(x86)\SH5

try

c:\games\SH5

also, describe better what you are "not hearing"

can you hear the ocean but not ships, or not the ocean not anything?

:hmmm:i am" not hearing" anything ,or i am hearing "nothing" or even there is "nothing to hear" if i could hear it then i could probably describe it better :salute: i have three installations of this game already and yes i am still "not hearing" anything as in ocean, ships , waves dolphins, whales , not even seagulls granted that they need too be swimming underwater or bobbing up and down on the waves to hear them at the hydrophones :know: i await a notable answer from the genius modders of this awesome buggy pile of crap that ubi-soft in thier worldly wisdom have thrown at us for the last time :arrgh!:

Look and see if you have this file :-

C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\data\Sound\Sh.sdl

Mods that change sound already in the game wont affect this file. Mods that add sound will change this file.

Try re-installing TDW FX mod (if you had used it) as this updates the Sh.sdl

Edit: you could also check your:-

C:\Users\###\Documents\SH5\data\cfg\Main for this.

:hmmm: thanks for suggestions tried them,but still no sound at the hydrophone i dont hear sub engine either i thought i did but no , i have reinstalled again today ,but no luck.if i knew what triggers the hydropones, i could look there :yawn:
