Quick question - new to SH5
 

I bought SH5 a week ago and have been getting familiar with it. I tried to install a few patches but I can't get JSGME to work right (the patch that reduces the tonnage oof ships you're required to sink)... so, whatever. I'm playing vanilla with the latest patch from UBI. Anyway, my question is... I am on my first patrol where I am the captain... and I am not getting any responses from my crew. When I ask for depth under keel, no one answers. When I order a dive, surface, change in speed, etc... no one answers. One of the few responses I've received is from the 1WO who screams "Man the deck gun!!!!!!!" Does anyone have any idea about why this problem exists? I am now playing on 100% realism. I was playing a campaign at 0% realism before just for fun and to familiarize myself with things, and the crew was responding to me. Now, I get no verbal response to most orders. Any help would be much appreciated!! Good hunting, my fellow Kaleuns!! :rock:

A known bug with the game. Sometimes you will not get any audio for commands issued. Try reloading the currenty saved game or reloading an earlier save. This seems to work most times. Sometimes a reboot is the only way to clear the bug.

Thanks for your help! I will give this a try. I have to admit... I'm tempted to go back to SH3 though!! I haven't played ANY subsim games since earl 2009 and it seems I've missed A LOT!!! GWX 3.0 is out... all the new mods for SH4 (which I thought sucked at the time I stopped playing). Apparently now SH4 is a good game with the mods. WOW... I missed a lot I guess. Anyway, Thanks again!!
