Friendly Advice?
 

Hello! I'm a long time fan of subsim, but I just got around to making an account. :D

Basically, I'm looking to improve my SH experience. I've never messed with mods until now, so I hope some users can point me in the right direction. :)

I'm crazy about detail, so any mod that improves the stock textures gets an 'A' in my book. I'd also like to note that I'm not a 'history addict' by any means. While I enjoy realism, I'd rather have the opportunity to sink multiple ships than go an entire patrol without meeting one.

Is there some type of program that will allow me to switch out mods on-the-fly? I don't like to mess with installing and uninstalling mods.

Again, it's great to be here and hope to learn alot from the community. :salute:

For installing and uninstalling mods the only tool you need is JSGME:

It works for any game, not just Silent Hunter, and it makes life a breeze.

Sounds like you might be looking for TMO mod, Tiger Maru Overhauled.

TMO improves the graphics a great deal as well as most all the game play options. It's harder to play than stock but well worth it. :yeah:

I'd just like to say that I'm absolutely loving the TMO mod! The pacific water is that beautiful blue color instead of that nasty grey foggy mess. There are so many updated features that I can't even list them. Again, thanks for the help! :woot:
