SH4 Supermod?

Hi, Is there a supermod for SH4 like GWX for SH3? I recently purchased SH4 and was hoping that there was a supermod to download. If there is no supermod what are the 'must have' mods for SH4? Thanks, Zakarpatska

I'm goin' down 01-22-11 11:51 PM

TMO2.0 (my personal choice. dds have high AI) + RSRDC; RFB + RSRDC; FOTRS; or Webster's GFO. Take your pick.

Indispensible mod - Easy Aob mod.

Extremely useful mods - SCAF and Max Optics.

Stand alone programs - Mobo (go to the Mobo forum); Gutted's Solution Solver; and Hydrophone Tracker.

If Map contacts are disabled -- Nisgeis' 3D TDC mod is essential.

See the Skipper's Bag of Tricks sticky for useful attack and evasion techniques.

TMO is a great supermod. RSRD mod corrects all the historical traffic to perfection. I just posted this elsewhere for someone wanting to install TMO with RSRD.

Thank you very much. I really appreciate the help and will start installing the mods.

Hi Armistead,

The links to the "TMO Beta Patch" and the "RSRD" files do not seem to work. I'd appreciate it if you could either update the links or provide a link to previous post that you mentioned.

I was able to download the other files listed.

Thanks again for your help.

RSRD ones seem to work now. If the TMO beta link isn't working, not sure where to find another, but I'll try. It's not needed, but has some good stuff added.

Hi Armistead,

I managed to find the link to the TMO Beta Mod. The correct link is:
http://www.filefront.com/17240111/TM...eta_update.7z/

I hope that worked as I don't have a lot of experience cutting and pasting links.

In any case I have been able to download the mod. Thanks for your help.

WOW!!! - That's some mod!!! :sunny:

I take it the order of install of the mods is the same sequence in which you listed the links. I'd appreciate it if you could confirm this as I installed the mods using JSGME and there seemed to be a lot of conflicts in the files. I'd like to make sure I've installed the mods correctly.

Thanks again for your help.

It's normal to have conflicts, you'll see a lot with RSRD as it rescripts all the traffic in TMO. Main thing is to load your supermod first. Often a mod makes changes to a mod, so make sure the last mod you load gives you the changes you want. Many small mods you may not see conflict.

Here is what I've been playing with for months in order.

TriggerMaru_Overhaul_2
TMO_20_Beta_update
RSRDC_TMO_V502
RSRDC_V5xx_Patch1
Fixed Zero Bomb Load RSRDC
Fixed_CD_sonar_RSRDC
IJN_Radar_Fix_for_TMO2_v1
TMO_Visuals_for_RSRDC

These are more optional.

TGT DIALS TO PK FIX - TMO
TGT AOB TO PK FIX - TMO
TMO_SubTextures_FooSkin
Webster's Smaller Rain for TMO
EAXsoundsim_without_WebstersManeuver_TMO19
MaxOptics IV for TMO_2
SCAF for RSRDC v502_2.0
TBT filter green TMO 1.9 and Stock
glen ford
Gramaphone One
Ship_debris_SH4_with bodies
Convoy Routes TMO+RSRD
Longer_Ship_Wake_V1_TMO1.7
New_Large_Lifeboat
SH4 Authentic Flags Mod
SS285 USS Balao_Historical BALAO HI-RES Weathered

Ahh...There is a TMO 2.7
What is the difference or upgrade between 2.0 and 2.7??
'Nother question. I've been reading about the "Beta Patch" what exactly does the beta patch do, or, what is 'Beta' ? This may sound like a stupid question but still, I don't know what the deal with 'Beta' is.
Also, I want to confirm this. I definitely have to have my 1.5 upgrade installed for TMO to run, correct? Aside from this, I should be running this by tomorrow.
Thanks.:salute:

PS: as far as the last question about running with 1.5, I found that answer and have downloaded the TMO 2.0 manual. Thanx again!

There is no TMO 2.7

There is a TMO 2

It is packaged for download in an archive file with a file extension of ".7z"

Therefore, you download "TMO2.7z", unpack it, and get TMO 2

A 'Beta' version is a test version. In other words, not the final version/patch.

You would have to look at the documentation for each mod to be sure, but most of the late versions of these mods are made for SH 1.5. After all, who wants to spend time modding obsolete/flawed versions of SH4?
I bought the 'gold edition' SH4 v1.5 on disc, and am glad I did (eventhough I already owned the early version). :O:

Hi Armistead, Thanks for all the links. I'll start looking for the additional mods to download. Thanks, Zakarpatska
