Checking it out now.
Just ran the game. The banding, of which I had pretty seriously, is toned way down. Good job and thank you. The following pics show the differences with your recommended gamma setting in the middle and with it two to the right. If looking away from sun all banding is virtually gone. Syncmaster 931bf/GeForce 250GTS/1280x1024/Gamma on monitor at 1.20 I appreciate your effort with this. WV |
I've given this a test sail and it seems to work very well with the Environment Mod 5.0. Moonlit nights have no banding that I could see, and the only noticeable stuff was at sunrise/sunset. Even then it's nowhere near as bad as stock. Very nice work. :salute:

Ahh you posted it sober :salute:
Going in to test it now Thanks  |
Please, could you explain what this mod do exactly?
I don't understand "sky banding problem" :06: |

Ah...i saw you have it in your list on top of Dynamic Environment too :hmmm:
Before your answer, i tried it after DE, and it seems the weird "stripes" in the sky (that i had sometimes mainly when sun set or rise - or when some daylight fog) have slightly decreased... Was it made on this purpose? |
DynEnv v2.9 - Sobers Sky Mechanics v1
Hi guys,
comparing Sobers Base Sky Mechanics' and Dynamic Environment's sky shaders, I have noticed that though having some tweaks in common, they are not prefectly identical. Dynamic Environment already addresses the issue of sky banding near the sun alo, but as you might know, the problem is not 100% fixed yet. I have therefore decided to attempt a brute merge between the settings of the two mods. It might do things better or worse, I haven't tested it in game yet, but should you feel like giving it a try yourselves, here is the download link: http://www.mediafire.com/?7ccg81azz93o0ao JSGME ready. Enable it anytime after Dynamic Environment v2.9 - main mod; (Sobers Sky Mechanics entirely included in the merge and thus not required). Shouldn't work, it won't break anything in your game and you can always disable it. :03: Feedback very much appreciated :salute: |
Many thanks Gap testing now
