Real Ship Names
 

Okay I just want to know if anyone else has trouble with this?? Ive reinstalled SH3 and GWX again a while back and still with "Use real ship names" checked in SH3 Commander I dont get real ship names or the cargo and crew lost in my patrol logs. Even in the SH3 Cmdr version. I just get Ship Sunk!! and what type it is and tonnage. This is really irritating me as it breaking up the realism when I go back to look at a patrol and see just ship sunk! coastal freighter! that and my lifeboat mod doesnt seem to work anymore (no lifeboats sprung) and my "damage" look mod doesnt show embers around the "holes" anymore just grey stuff so I think It may be time to reinstall GWX and SH3 again and hopefully reinstalling Cmdr will take care of my patrol logs.. :nope: I just wish I could figure out what it is so all of this stuff will work right!!! :rock::damn:

Did you just check the ingame patrol logs, or did you run the update personnel files / view, logs?

I believe the ships names and such are added only after you run the update feature in SHC

Gargamel is correct, in order for Commander to populate your patrol logs with real ship names and data, you must first update your personnel file. Otherwise it uses only the data that the game provides. :yep:

SH3 Commander doesn't assign the names and information until the patrol is ended. They will then appear in Commander's patrol log. After that they will appear in the in-game log.

Okay I got them to assign the names but I didnt get information just the ship type, name and tonnage. .. shouldnt crew lost and cargo be on there too?

1. How many ships did you sink? I only ask because there may be some types that got missed. I doubt it, but that's my first question.

2. Which version of Commander do you have installed? Only the very latest version has that information.

3. Try downloading the latest version of my 'Ship Names' mod. Not only do I know that the info is there and that it works, but you'll also get a couple thousand new names.

8 ships. around 27,000 tons, large merchants, coastal freighters and such. and I think its Cmdr 3.2.0 or the latest version I think. I downloaded and installed your mod and still no luck, I think Im going to un install and re install SH3, GWX, and SH3 Commander tommorow and see if that helps, I know when explosion animations werent happening with the DCs and Torps that after I did that it fixed it.
