Has anyone figured out how to import ships from SHV to SHIV yet?

Ivan - does this mean you want better looking models for Beta release of TSWSM ? If so - let me know. Am sure I can import new models into the existing damage models. If you want a list of the ships which really do need to look better, I would prioritize Hood and Scharnhorst above anything else at present.

I think that there may be a few Units in SH5 you all want to save time.
I've already done a PM exchange with ivank about the Exporter I wrote. He will get the latest version by Monday. Along with a few others that test it for me. It's not a ready to be released Tool at this time. So only a few get access to it for now. (The latest version blows the Teaser versions out of the water!) :haha: |
Privateer: GREAT! I can not wait to use it. I have to ask you something about S3D, but I forget it atm. I will PM you later
Poly: Hood and Scharnhorst are on the top for the priority list. I have a full list on the website |

not me anyway...

One thing We do know as a fact with the Exports from SH5 and S3D.
S3D will not render some things right at this time. Remember, it was Coded for SH3/4 with more towards SH4. Most of the SH3/4 Units have the texture mappings within a given area. S3D is coded for this. However, SH5 meshes are UV mapped beyond the areas we are use to. So the rendering in S3D looks screwed up. Be sure to look at the Unit in Game before you panic! I'm looking at every exportable GR2 file in SH5 to see if an adjusting filter can be coded in the Exporter. The purpose of this filter would be to center the UV mappings in a way that S3D can render, but not mess up the whole shebang! |
